I am currently working on two different stories that are both contenders for my next publication.
The first is “The Alexa Hill Chronicles: Volume One.” This is the story of the trials and tribulations of a sixth grade girl with a fierce mom. This is actually in its third draft, but I am still not 100% sure about it. I am waiting for feedback from a couple more readers, and then I will decide whether to publish or exile Alexa into the dungeon of failed ideas (alas, this dungeon already has two occupants).
The second is tentatively titled “The Face In The Wall.” This is the story of a boy who is constantly observed by a mysterious face, that only he can see. I started this manuscript about 18 months ago, and just recently returned to it. The first draft is nowhere near ready, but if I don’t publish Alexa Hill, this will almost certainly by my next publication.
And then, of course, there is the third and final Kyle Evans book. I haven’t written a single word of this story yet, but my goal is to finish it this year. I can’t wait to see how Bootles’ Kyle’s and Sofia’s journey ends!
Kyle Evans and the Key to the Universe continues to earn great reviews (like this one from Readers’ Favorite ) and was just named one of the best books of 2016 by AlliesOpinions.
If you, or a child in your life, love fun, exciting adventure stories with wacky characters and excellent illustrations then you can pick up a copy at any bookstore, or right here. You can also find the sequel (Kyle Evans and the Deadly Plague) at your favorite bookshop and here.
2017 promises to be an exciting year. All being well, I will be publishing two books over the next 12 months, one of which will be the final installment in the Kyle Evans trilogy. I also plan on conducting several school visits throughout the year, so if you are interested in having me visit your class/grade, please let me know. Finally, I will continue to spread the word about my three published books: Flicker, Kyle Evans and the Key to the Universe and Kyle Evans and the Deadly Plague. All three are extremely well reviewed, and I look forward to sharing them with a wider audience.
I hope that 2017 brings you happiness, peace and a whole lot of fun!
I am delighted to be speaking to the fifth graders at Cider Mill school on December 16th. A fun game, followed by Q&A, a reading and a prize. It should be an action-packed 45 minutes!
I am giving away one original, signed illustration from Kyle Evans and The Key to the Universe. The picture is of a Grug (a rather unpleasant creature with a healthy appetite), and it is the genuine article: the original hand-drawing by James Chapman.
If you would like a chance to win this awesome drawing, please email me at RobHHunt@gmail.com. Please write “Grug Picture” in the subject line, and include your name, city and state in the body of the email. If you do not want to receive emails from me about new books and events in your area, please also write “No” in the body of the email (this makes no difference to your chance of winning!).
One winner will be drawn on February 1st, 2017. Please, only one entry per family.
This Saturday (December 3rd), I will be signing copies of Kyle Evans and the Key to the Universe and Kyle Evans and the Deadly Plague at The Toy Chest in Wilton, CT. This is almost exactly two years after my first ever book signing, which also happened to be at The Toy Chest. I am delighted to be returning to this warm and friendly store, and if you happen to be in the area between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, I would love to see you there!
